Israel aims to brand Turkiye as its 'latest adversary', states FM Fidan following Netanyahu's comments about Erdogan.

Following Netanyahu's comments regarding Erdogan, Israel aims to label Turkiye as a 'fresh adversary', stated Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Monday. He remarked that Israel 'needs an antagonist to survive' and its administration is currently attempting to depict Turkiye in this light.

In a televised conversation with Anadolu Agency, Fidan remarked, "Post-Iran, Israel finds it impossible to exist without an adversary."

"We observe that not only Netanyahu's government but also certain individuals within the opposition — although not everyone — are attempting to position Turkiye as the latest antagonist," he noted.

"This marks a novel shift in Israel... evolving into a national strategy," he continued.

In a televised discussion with Anadolu Agency, Fidan remarked, “Following Iran, Israel finds it difficult to exist without an adversary.”

“We observe that not just Netanyahu’s government, but also various personalities within the opposition — albeit not all — are attempting to position Turkiye as the latest foe,” he mentioned.

“This marks a fresh shift in Israel… evolving into a strategy for the state,” he continued.
